Terms of Service

By engaging Shiney Books, you agree to the following:

  • Scope of Services: Shiney Books provides bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping support. We do not provide tax filing, legal, or investment advice.
  • Client Responsibilities: You agree to provide accurate and timely information required to perform bookkeeping services.
  • Payments: Fees must be paid according to the plan or agreement selected. Late payments may result in a pause of services.
  • Confidentiality: Shiney Books agrees to keep your financial data strictly confidential, except as required by law.
  • Termination: Either party may terminate services with written notice. Any outstanding balance must be paid before services are closed.

 

Refund & Cancellation Policy

  • Service Plans: Monthly and annual bookkeeping plans are billed in advance.
  • Refunds: Due to the time and expertise involved in financial recordkeeping, payments are generally non-refundable once services have begun. If you cancel before services start, you may be eligible for a full refund.
  • Cancellations: Clients may cancel services by providing written notice at least 14 days before the next billing cycle. Services already rendered will not be refunded.
  • Special Circumstances: Shiney Books may issue refunds at our discretion in cases of duplicate payments, billing errors, or service interruptions.

 

Payment Policy

  1. Invoicing
  • All services are billed through QuickBooks Online Invoicing.
  • Clients will receive invoices by email from Shiney Books with secure payment options.
  1. Payment Methods
  • We accept payments via credit card, debit card, and ACH bank transfer through QuickBooks Payments.
  • Cash or check payments are not accepted unless arranged in advance.
  1. Due Dates
  • Payment is due within 7 calendar days of the invoice date, unless otherwise specified in the service agreement.
  • Recurring monthly service plans will be invoiced on the 1st of each month and are due by the 7th.
  1. Late Payments
  • Payments not received by the due date may incur a late fee of 5% of the outstanding balance.
  • Continued late payments may result in suspension of services until the account is brought current.
  1. Refunds & Disputes
  • Payments are non-refundable once services have been rendered.
  • If you believe there is an error on your invoice, please contact us within 5 business days of receipt for review.
  1. Auto-Billing (Optional)
  • Clients may elect to enroll in automatic recurring payments for monthly services to avoid missed due dates.

 

Data Security Policy

Shiney Books takes data security seriously.

  • Technology Used: We use secure, encrypted systems such as QuickBooks Online, password-protected file sharing, and industry-standard safeguards to protect client data.
  • Access Control: Only authorized Shiney Books staff and contracted professionals (as necessary) will have access to your data.
  • Third-Party Systems: When using tools such as QuickBooks, Gusto, or Relay, your data is also protected under their respective security policies.
  • Breach Response: In the unlikely event of a data breach, clients will be notified promptly with details and recommended next steps.

For tax filing, audit, or legal matters, we may coordinate with qualified third-party professionals, but final responsibility lies with the client and their designated CPA or advisor.
